Position Summary

Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. The position is a part‑time adjunct faculty role. Upon selection, the applicant will be added to a pool for consideration when a need arises for the academic year. Primary duties include teaching courses, facilitating learning outcomes, and mentoring students.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in the approved discipline, using face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit modalities as assigned.
  • Create and maintain an effective learning environment.
  • Provide timely feedback, respond to student communications, and submit final grades promptly.
  • Engage in instructional preparation and assessment of student performance.
  • Attend adjunct faculty meetings and complete required training.
  • Maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
Qualifications

Required Education

  • Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for workforce or degree completion faculty: appropriate academic degree plus demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline.
  • Transcripts, certificates, and/or licenses submitted with application.
  • Associate degree and 2–5 years of work experience;
    Bachelor’s degree and 6–10 years;
    Master’s degree and 11–15 years;
    Doctorate and 16+ years.

Required Experience

  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including theory, design, building, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Minimum of 5 years working with hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

Preferred Education / Experience

  • Preferred education not specified beyond the required.
  • Preferred experience:

    minimum 5 years working with hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses.
  • Ability to create a professional and effective learning environment in classroom and laboratory.
  • Strong communication skills with students, college personnel, peers, and public groups.
  • Ability to treat all persons with respect and uphold the highest professional and ethical standards.
  • Observance of College policies and procedures.
Special Instructions

This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
