Adjunct Instructor – Veterinary Technician

Job SummaryWeatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. This continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position adds the applicant to a pool for future consideration. The role involves teaching and mentoring students in Veterinary Technology courses, with modalities including face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online/Zoom.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in the approved discipline and support students’ acquisition of specified learning outcomes.
- Mentor students inside and outside of the classroom.
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment in all modalities (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, dual credit).
- Provide timely feedback and respond to student communications.
- Assess student performance and submit final grades promptly.
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings and complete required training.
- Adhere to College policies and procedures.
- Minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching workforce certificate or degree completion courses.
- Associate degree plus 2‑5 years work experience, or Bachelor’s degree plus 6‑10 years work experience, or Master’s degree plus 11‑15 years work experience, or Doctorate degree plus 16+ years work experience; all related to Veterinary Technology.
- Associate Degree‑Licensed Veterinary Technician (licenses/certificates required).
- D.V.M. preferred for particular courses.
- Three (3) years working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
- Preferred:
Five (5) years working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, history of clinical instruction, experience with a variety of animal species.

Each adjunct faculty member must demonstrate the ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; to create a professional learning environment; to communicate effectively with students, college personnel, peers, and public groups; to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice; and to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards.
