Adjunct Skills Instructor- Phlebotomy Clinical & Lab Skills

Job Description Summary

Assists with skills instruction within health science programs and with administrative duties as assigned by the Program Director and under the direct supervision of the Program Director.

Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Primary duties include teaching courses in the approved discipline, facilitating student acquisition of learning outcomes and mentoring students inside and outside the classroom.

• Assist with skills training and lab duties assigned by the Program Director.
• Teach courses in the approved discipline and create a learning environment across modalities (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, dual credit).
• Provide timely feedback to students, respond to communications, and submit final grades promptly.
• Maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
• Attend adjunct faculty meetings and assess courses at departmental and institutional levels.
• Complete any required training and any related duties as assigned.

• Graduate of a two‑part, structured program in phlebotomy consisting of didactic & laboratory, and clinical training; provide current phlebotomy certification recognized by NAACLS.
• Associate degree and/or 2‑5 years work experience in the field of study.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or 6‑10 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.
• Master’s degree and/or 11‑15 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.
• Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.

• Minimum of 100 hours of clinical experience in the field; current phlebotomy certification recognized by NAACLS.

• Exhibit the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources and observe College policies and procedures.

• This position is security‑sensitive and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check.
