Part‑time Faculty – Adjunct faculty position in general education, continuous recruitment.
Position SummaryWeatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as‑needed basis.

Primary duties of adjunct faculty include:
- Teaching courses in the approved discipline.
- Providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses.
- Mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom.
- Creating and maintaining an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit instruction).
- Ensuring all faculty members maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
- Associate degree and/or 2–5 years work experience in the field of study.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 6–10 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.
- Master’s degree and/or 11–15 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.
- Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.
Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
Required Experience- At least 3 years experience in the communications field or 3 years teaching experience.
- Doctorate
- Three years professional radio/television experience
- Provide instruction and mentorship to students in and outside of the classroom.
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment in all modalities.
- Engage in instructional preparation, provide timely feedback, and respond to student communications promptly.
- Assess student performance, submit final grades in a timely fashion, and complete required training.
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings, assess courses on departmental and institutional levels, and perform related duties as assigned.
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior; be available to students by appointment.
- All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
- Ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses.
- Ability to provide instruction that achieves specific goals and objectives.
- Ability to create a professional learning environment in classroom and/or laboratory.
- Effective communication with students, personnel, administration, peers, and public groups.
- Respect and dignity for all persons; adherence to non‑discrimination policies.
- Exercise highest professional and ethical standards using College time and resources.
- Observe College policies and procedures.
This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check.
Males between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
