Position Summary
Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis.

Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit instruction).
Hours vary by need and course schedule and may include day, evening, and weekend instruction.

Minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards including an earned master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application. - Required Experience

Minimum of 4 semesters of college‑level experience in online, hybrid, and/or face‑to‑face classroom modalities, with enrollments comprising traditional and non‑traditional student populations. - Preferred Experience

- Provide instruction in traditional and non‑traditional learning modes.
- Develop and implement instructional materials and assessments to achieve course learning outcomes.
- Give timely feedback to students and respond to student communications promptly.
- Submit final grades in a timely manner.
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior.
- Be available to students by appointment.
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings.
- Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels.
- Complete required training and other duties as assigned.
- Security‑sensitive position requiring a satisfactory criminal history background check.
- Males aged 18‑25 must be registered with the Selective Service System.
