Job Description
Summary:
Primary duties of full time faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as recruiting, advising, and mentoring students in and outside of the classroom. The faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, be they face-to-face, hybrid, online, or within the context of dual credit instruction.
Full time faculty members are also responsible for participation in professional development activities, serving on college committees, developing and updating curriculum, textbook, equipment selection and instructional materials. Faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
All faculty members must meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) academic, oral and written English proficiency requirements. All full time faculty members must demonstrate a willingness and abilities to teach day, evening and/or weekend classes in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit environments.

Education:
All faculty members must possess minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline.
Required Experience:
Ten years of full time experience with a municipal, state or federal law enforcement agency.

As Department Chair, this position requires:
- Prepare and teach courses in the field of Criminal Justice to a diverse student population based on the department's approved course learning outcomes, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to the needs of community college students and the standards of the discipline.
- Develop class schedules, hire adjunct faculty, and address student concerns regarding instruction, grades, and other academic concerns.
- Engage in recruitment at career fairs, high schools, and other industry opportunities.
