Minimum Qualifications:

• 24 hours pre-service.
• Must be at least 18 years old and be a high school graduate or be enrolled in an approved school program.
• Comply with all other requirements of Texas child care regulatory agencies.
• Be sensitive and mature and able to relate well to both children and adults.
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions, make good judgments and be reliable and dependable.
• Physical constraints required include the ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, the ability to see and read newsprint with or without corrective lenses, to speak and be understood under normal circumstances, to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds, and the use of arms, hands legs and feet with or without corrective devices to accomplish the job, including evacuation of the building during emergencies.
• After an offer of employment is made, produce a current tuberculin test that complies with minimum standards.

• Able to respond immediately to any emergency situation.

Salary/Pay Rate: $10-$14/hr based on experience

After 90-day probationary period, an additional $1/hr will be given to excellent teacher/s

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Lead Teacher
• Responsible for the education, welfare, health and safety of the children in the group
• Assesses each child's developmental needs (physical, intellectual, social, cultural, etc.) along with the Lead Teacher
