Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineer will plan, design, and coordinate the installation and maintenance of the City of Weatherford’s electric distribution system.
Roles and Responsibilities:Reviews, designs, and provides feedback for residential, commercial, and subdivision construction permit requests.
Designs overhead and underground electric distribution circuits.
Coordinates and provides oversight for construction projects with developers, contractors, and City personnel.
Develops and maintains the maintenance program for the electric distribution system and electric substations.
Performs electric system analysis using electric system modeling software.
Performs system planning for the electric distribution system.
Performs system protection studies and determines protective relay settings.
Special projects include distribution automation (FLISR).
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge in engineering design, analysis, and project management.
Knowledge in computer skills including AutoCAD, Excel, Word, and engineering analysis software.
Ability to read and interpret reports, records, blueprints, maps, gauges, dials, meters, and technical handbooks to include local, state and federal regulations.
Ability to perform advanced mathematics including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
Regular, reliable, and punctual levels of attendance are essential job functions and expectations of this position.
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
Must have a valid Texas Driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
