Part‑time Staff – Sign Language Interpreter – Weatherford Campus

This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 and 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.

Position Summary:

Employees in this title may work no more than fourteen (14) hours per week. Level 1 certification is required.

• Provide sign language interpreting services to students and personnel in collaboration with other full‑ and part‑time interpreters.
• Interpret in various settings including classroom instruction, laboratory sessions, tutoring, and extracurricular activities.

• Required
• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification through the state of Texas or the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, demonstrating fluency in American Sign Language and/or Signed English.
• Ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity, and justice, and to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards.
• Preferred
• Certification from the Board of Evaluators for Interpreters.
• College training in interpreting or American Sign Language.

Part‑time, up to fourteen (14) hours per week.
