Part-time - Sign Language Interpreter - Weatherford Campus

Job Description Summary
Since there is no full-time equivalent, employees in this title may work no more than fourteen (14) hours per week. Level 1 certification is required.

• High school diploma or GED

• Certification required either through the state of Texas or the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.
• Must reflect fluency in American Sign Language and/or Signed English to maintain effective communication with students and college personnel.

• Bachelor’s degree

• Certification with the Board of Evaluators for Interpreters.
• College training in interpreting or American Sign Language preferred.

• Provide sign language interpreting services to students and personnel working in conjunction with other full and part-time interpreters.
• Provide services in classroom, lab instruction, tutoring, and/or extra-curricular activities.

• Ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation or gender identity; ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources and observe the stated policies and procedures of the College.

• This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check.
• Males between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
