Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

Supervises the financial and administrative programs of Weatherford College and administers college business and administrative services.

Qualifications

Required Education Preferred Education

Doctorate and/or certified public accountant

Required Experience

5 years full-time employment in a post-secondary educational institution in the areas of financial and administrative services.

Preferred Experience

Experience as a chief financial officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establishes high standards and quality for effective financial and administrative affairs programs.
  • Establishes effective procedures and methods of implementation for the administration of the areas of financial services, budgeting, purchasing, technology, maintenance, construction, and auxiliary services.
  • Prepares, with staff, annual improvement objectives for areas of responsibility.
  • Provides leadership for effective management of the business and administration of the college.
  • Coordinates college participation in various statewide programs established by the Higher Education Coordinating Board.
  • Coordinates participation in various college or grant-sponsored programs.
  • Participates in SACS re-accreditations relating to the administration and facilities of the college.
  • Establishes and administers effective procedures to ensure compliance with state regulations.
  • Researches and implements new initiatives cooperatively with Research and Institutional Effectiveness.
  • Creates and monitors contractual agreements between the college and other entities.
  • Advises the President in the investment of college funds and serves as the investment officer for the college.
  • Assists the President, with the aid of the Controller, in formulating an annual budget for presentation to the Board of Trustees.
  • Directs control of budget upon its approval by the Board, including collection, custody, investment, disbursement, accounting, and auditing of all college funds.
