The Pre Op/PACU Registered Nurse delivers continuity and quality nursing care for all patients. Responsibilities include continuous evaluation of the patient’s condition, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy. The RN may assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and sterile techniques when appropriate. The RN provides comprehensive patient care for patients emerging from general anesthesia or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
