Shift Lead — Customer-Driven Store Operations

Job Summary

Opens and closes the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems startups, required cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day. Responsible for opening back door of store for deliveries. Completes product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provides change as requested to cash registers.

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.

• Responsible for holding store keys to open and close without management as necessary.
• Assists with and coaches other team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including opening the backdoor for vendor deliveries.
• Registers all related sales on assigned cash register, including records of scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
• Supports manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and assists in reverse logistics.
• Assists in evaluating and developing displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise. Completes resets and revisions.
• Maintains accurate inventory counts for basic departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.
• Ensures compliance with the Outdate program.
• Manages basic department pricing and daily price changes; ensures proper signage and compliance with local regulations.
• Assists with bookkeeping activities, including cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payments as necessary.
• Assists with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring a clean, orderly store condition and appearance. Requests repairs as needed.
• Separates food items and places products as specified by policies.
• Supports execution of Pickup program.
• Has working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
• Assists Pharmacy at the out window where permitted by state regulations or where licensure has been obtained.
• Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Performs bag checks of team members before closing.
• Complies with all company policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Attends training and completes PPLs requested by Manager.

• Serves as a liaison between management and non‑management team members by communicating assigned tasks during manager absence.
• Reports disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• Possesses or obtains valid PTCB or ExCPT certification or pharmacy license as required by state.

Salary Range
: $17 - $20 / Hourly
