POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Support Staff
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 months;
Beginning school year and future terms. 25 hours per week (part-time position)
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must Pass Physical Capabilities Test
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of numerical and alphabetical arrangement of library books in a library
- Good organizational skills
- Serv Safe certification course required within first year of hire
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records
- Ability to handle cash and make change accurately
- Ability to use computer and use pertinent software applications
JOB SUMMARY
The Building Aide works to support teachers with a variety of tasks. Assists with day to day operations of the school. The purpose of the Cafeteria Cashier is to maintain complete and accurate student lunch records and accounts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The duties of the Lunch Aide/Building Aide will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist staff with various tasks: laminating, photo copies, etc.
- Collect lunch payments and prepares daily deposits.
- Accurately enters students/staff through the computer at lunch and breakfast.
- Accurately counts money and assists with or prepares the daily deposit.
- Maintain security of confidential information of student accounts.
- Send notices to parents in a timely manner concerning lunch account status.
- Prepare documentation of sales transactions (i.e. daily cash receipts, records; breakfast and lunch counts, etc.).
- Reconcile cash and credit receipts to meal counts.
- Respond to inquiries of students, staff and the public regarding the type and/or cost of meals and food items, account balances, etc.
- Appropriately supervise students before, during and after the school day, as needed.
- Models positive behavior for students (i.e. interpersonal communication, processes, social interactions, etc.) for the purpose of providing educational and life skills training.
- Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior, speech, dress and appropriate professional manner for the work setting.
- Demonstrate effective human relations and communication skills.
- Adhere to good safety practices.
- Ability to understand and adhere to all District rules, regulations and policies.
- All other duties as required or assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- stand, walk, sit and talk/hear;
- occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl;
- occasionally push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs; and
- be able to see, including close, distance and depth perception.
