• 1d ago Responsible for a variety of tasks associated with working with metals and plastics to create products. Reads and understands drawings, takes accurate measurements, sets up manual/automated machines, and operates safely and precisely. Responsibilities:

• Planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection, and testing using knowledge of material properties and machine functions.
• Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and other engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations to fabricate products.
• Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials for the required work.
• Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders.
• Program and operate CNC milling machines to produce products to specifications.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using measuring equipment
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments and accessories as required.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Maintain machines to include cleaning and lubricating all machines, tools, and other equipment on a scheduled preventive maintenance cycle, or when otherwise required.
• Accept delivery of a variety of material and store in a proper manner.
• Perform maintenance activities such as cleaning, sweeping, etc. to keep the shop area and floor clean and organized.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must possess a good knowledge of machines and tools, including understanding their design and uses, as well as how to repair and maintain them.
• Must have good knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their applications in a machine shop environment.
• Must understand the basic varieties and materials and their uses in a machine shop and/or manufacturing environment.
• Must have good communications skills with peers, customers, and management
• Must have the physical ability to stand, bend, stoop, climb, and lift 50lbs.
• Knowledge & awareness of ISO 9001 quality policy location and responsibilities of job in relation to quality policy.
