Position: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) (AEMT) or Paramedic, PRN

A clinically competent EMS provider who assumes responsibility and accountability to provide basic and/or advanced emergency care in out‑of‑hospital setting, including the evaluation, treatment, and transport of injured and/or ill adult, pediatric and newborn patients in accordance with standard operating procedures. In hospital setting, assists Registered Nurse, Paramedic and Advanced Provider in providing care from neonate to geriatric patients. Under direction of Registered Nurse and/or Provider, assists with tasks and procedures not specifically denied by Nursing policy or State of Iowa EMS Advanced Care Law/Administrative Rules, applicable to EMT/A‑EMT and paramedic.

The EMS providers care to these patients with therapeutic use of self, the environment/ instrumentation, and other health care team members. Serves as a patient advocate and a liaison between ancillary departments, physicians, and community resources. The Paramdeic is responsible for the direction of personnel assigned as needed.

Shift will be 12 hours, either 7p-7a or 7a-7p. Wage commensurate with experience.
