Information Specialist

• Support Par Health’s Generics and Sterile Injectable businesses, primarily R&D, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, and Quality
• Provide reference services and literature searches using established search strategies
• Manage databases including Ovid, Accuris, USP, EP, BP, and Scifinder
• Administer Iron Mountain and manage long-term storage of company files
• Support Regulatory annual reports and literature requests
• Support Pharmacovigilance through Ovid alerts and full-text articles
• Support R&D with document storage and retrieval and literature searches
• Support FDA, Health Canada, and DEA audits as needed
• Provide literature access, procurement, organization, and citation support
• Maintain metadata records in Presto ILS and internal knowledge management databases
• Assist with online resource renewals, management, and access
• Troubleshoot online journal and resource access
• Acquire and process information resources based on business needs
• Monitor journal and online resource usage and prepare reports
• Facilitate acquisition, copying, and archiving of lab notebooks/logbooks
• Edit and distribute electronic Tables of Contents and maintain distribution lists
• Educate employees on library services and resources
• Contribute to maintenance and continuous improvement of the knowledge infrastructure
• Perform other assigned duties

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in one of the natural or physical sciences
• Prior work in a library or as a research or editorial assistant or GMP areas
• Understanding of online resource licensing methods and copyright guidelines
• Experience updating records in an Integrated Library System (ILS), cataloging, and ILL software such as InMagic/Presto
• Experience with the administrative or staff view of an ILS
• Familiarity with searching citation databases such as Pub Med, OVID, Scifinder, USP, EP, Smart Chem, Cortellis, Techstreet
• Strong written and verbal communications skills with attention to detail, organizational skills, and dedication to quality
• Customer-focused and self-directed with strong multi-tasking abilities
• Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Proficiency in current information/library technologies
• Ability to periodically perform lifting for collection shelving and shifting
• Ability to lift 20–30 pounds and walk across plants and warehouses as needed

Demonstrates expertise in managing databases and information resources, supporting regulatory compliance, and facilitating literature access and procurement. Proficient in utilizing Integrated Library Systems and citation databases to enhance research and development efforts.
