Job Summary
KVC's Nursing Supervisor serves as the Nursing Department's liaison when working with senior hospital leaders to improve and innovate programs. The Nursing Supervisor will ensure the comfort and safety of patients and families are in accordance with legal and hospital policies and procedures and/or psychiatric residential treatment policies and procedures and establish standards of nursing care and practice as defined by the Missouri State Board of Nursing, the State of Missouri, and KVC Health Systems.
Qualifications- Education: Associate degree in nursing required from an accredited college or university, BSN preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri.
- Experience: At least 2 years of prior experience or training in psychiatric nursing. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Skills:
More than two years of experience supervising registered nurses providing psychiatric patient care. Experience utilizing electronic medical administration records and health records. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as Outlook email.
- Provide inclusive leadership and promote a respectful culture among nursing staff, colleagues, and stakeholders
- Oversee nursing operations, including medication administration and care for inpatient and/or residential patients
- Manage nurse scheduling and participate in the on-call rotation for emergencies
- Partner with HR to recruit, hire, and train new nursing staff in accordance with KVC and state requirements
- Coordinate pharmacy services and serve as liaison with contracted pharmacy providers
- Review and evaluate clinical reports and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of documentation
- Participate in infection control efforts, including committee involvement and surveillance activities
- Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and regulatory standards (e.g., The Joint Commission, Missouri Board of Nursing)
- Maintain proficiency in KVC systems, including EMR and HRIS platforms
- Oversee staff training, ensuring completion of required in-service and ongoing education
- Support physicians in educating patients and guardians on medications, including effects and side effects
- Communicate patient progress and collaborate with the treatment team to support clinical decision-making
- Supervise specialized treatment procedures and contribute to high-quality patient care
Additional duties may be assigned based on organizational needs and staff qualifications.
Physical & Work EnvironmentThe conditions described are representative of those required to perform this role, with reasonable accommodations available. This position involves regular standing, walking, and communication, with frequent use of hands and occasional bending, kneeling, or climbing. The role may require lifting up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and 75 pounds occasionally. Standard visual abilities are required. Work is performed in a moderate noise environment with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions.
