Summary

This employee is responsible for the safety and security of agency personnel, children, guests, and property; for providing crisis prevention and intervention management; for assisting other agency personnel in carrying out their duties;
And for enforcing agency policies and procedures.

This position demonstrates a commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the agency by engaging in respectful, cooperative relationships with customers (i.e., clients, employees, and external stakeholders); accountable for providing services and ensuring safety to clients while empowering clients in achieving the agency’s mission.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide quarterly training to the campus intervention team members.
  • Insure CIT are well informed of all agency safety and security related issues concerning team members, clients, guests, and volunteers.
  • Oversees security and safety for agency personnel, children, guests, and property by maintaining constant vigilance of all agency activities and conditions.
  • Responds to and interacts with residents and situations on campus where residents are in a crisis, such as runaways, aggressive, suicidal, or any other safety related incident.
  • Ensure appropriate communication of all crisis incidents that occur with parents, guardians or others within and outside the agency.
  • Contacts law enforcement when needed to ensure the safety and security of residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Manage implementation of all emergency and safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of residents and staff including ensuring that staff and resident departures and returns to and from campus and dorms (i.e. staff breaks, van check-ins and out, key management, resident passes) comply with policy/ procedure and consideration of weather conditions.
  • Review, organize, and generate the relevant documentation of all related crisis activities and conditions within and outside of the agency.
  • Provide physical supervision in living units, as well as all areas where children are located.
  • Monitor building and surrounding grounds for safe and sanitary living conditions, coordinate needed repair and maintenance to meet licensing and accreditation standards including but not limited to safety drills.
  • Communicate and document resident’s behaviors, issues and needs inside and outside the agency as necessary.
  • Manage daily schedule changes to ensure staffing ratios meet requirements.
  • Employ, manage, role model, and supervise the development of therapeutic rapport, strength based interactions, and crisis prevention and intervention skills for staff and residents.
  • Ensure all privileges and consequences given to residents or strength based and follow policy and procedure.
  • Monitor and model agency rules, policies and procedures including attendance, program/department specific procedures, workplace safety, code of conduct, social media, training requirements, and confidentiality.
