Direct Support Professional/ Direct Care
Arbor Associates is currently seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide overnight support in a residential setting for youth ages 8–18 with mental disabilities and behavioral challenges. As an Overnight DSP, you will play an important role in creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment while assisting residents with daily living needs, promoting independence, and ensuring their health and well‑being throughout the night.
This position is ideal for individuals who are patient, reliable, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and teens.
- Provide overnight supervision and support to youth in a residential setting
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, meal preparation, and feeding when needed
- Monitor residents’ health, safety, and emotional well‑being throughout the shift
- Accurately document services provided, behavioral observations, and incidents
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe living environment
- Support behavioral intervention plans and therapeutic programming
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and incoming staff during shift changes
- Promote dignity, independence, and positive social interactions
- Follow all agency policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality standards
- Respond calmly and professionally during behavioral or crisis situations
- Previous experience as a DSP, Residential Counselor, Youth Worker, CNA, PCA, Behavioral Health Technician, or similar role preferred
- Experience working with children, teens, individuals with disabilities, or behavioral health needs is a plus
- Must be dependable, patient, and able to remain calm in challenging situations
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work overnight hours
- Must be committed to providing respectful, person‑centered care
