Physical Therapist Assistant – Physical Therapy

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current PTA license in the state of practice. Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred. Strong communication skills, clinical judgment, and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a rehabilitation team under the supervision of a licensed PT.

Carry out physical therapy treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist to address residents' mobility and functional needs. Deliver direct therapy services, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, and balance activities, in a safe and effective manner. Observe and report resident responses to interventions, including progress and changes in condition, to the supervising PT. Assist with resident assessments and contribute to documentation and care planning as appropriate.

Educate residents and caregivers on exercises and techniques to promote safety and carryover outside therapy sessions. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record system.
