Title:

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant – Occupational Therapy

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of practice
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting preferred
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and organizational skills

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Implement treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist to improve residents' abilities in activities of daily living, mobility, cognition, and psychosocial functioning.
• Assist with resident evaluations and document functional status and progress toward goals.
• Deliver direct therapy services in a compassionate, safe, and effective manner.
• Monitor and document residents' responses to interventions and report concerns to the Occupational Therapist.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate relevant updates on residents.
• Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and safety techniques to promote independence.
