Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Talent Management Specialist (TMS) is responsible for attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent across the organization while shaping a strong, consistent employee experience from first contact through exit. This role goes beyond traditional recruiting by partnering closely with leaders to define roles, assess talent needs, build career pathways, and position the organization as an employer of choice.
They will lead and enhance processes related to recruiting, onboarding, and succession planning. This role includes overseeing internship programs, new employee check-in meetings, exit interviews, and collecting and analyzing data to ensure the continued growth and success of the credit union’s talent. This is a role ideal for someone who is outgoing, consultative, and business-minded - someone who can read people well, influence hiring managers, and balance relationship-building with direct, practical guidance.
This is a 37.50-hour per week position located in Worcester, MA with occasional overtime and travel required. The standard schedule is M, T: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; W: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Th, F: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding
- Lead full cycle recruiting for a wide range of roles, from intake through offer and acceptance
- Partner with hiring managers to clarify role requirements, define success profiles, and set realistic hiring expectations
- Partner with the Marketing Department to create marketing/advertising pieces that can be used online, at job fairs or networking events, and in other areas/media to promote employment with WFFCU.
- Participate in job fairs, networking events, and other community engagements that will attract interest in employment with WFFCU.
- Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, providing direct feedback on candidate quality, market conditions, and hiring decisions
- Proactively source and engage candidates using a variety of channels and networking strategies
- Serve as a brand ambassador, effectively selling the organization’s mission, culture, and opportunities to candidates
- Ensure a professional, engaging, and inclusive candidate experience, including training and coaching internal staff on interviewing skills and procedures
- Ensuring diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts are integrated into hiring practices to confirm the workforce appropriately reflects the communities it serves
- Coordinate and manage the hiring process, including offers, background checks, and start dates
- Oversee onboarding processes to ensure new hires are set up for success from day one
- Collaborate with the training department and supervisors to ensure employees are set up with the training, resources, and support needed to be successful in their roles.
