Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineering
Are you a rare talent who can design a solution in Solid Works and then head to the shop floor to TIG weld it into reality? We are seeking a Welder Fabricator to lead manufacturing innovation. This is not a "production line" job; you will be the bridge between initial concepts and final quality products, specializing in high-precision prototyping, custom tooling, and Lean manufacturing improvements.
CoreResponsibilities
- Concept to Reality: Interpret travelers, blueprints, and sketches to prototype products and custom fixtures that meet rigorous quality standards.
- Design & Optimization: Use Solid Works to review existing products for cost reduction and design improvements.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain equipment to peak standards and proactively advise supervision on technical hurdles or material issues.
- Problem Solving: Use independent judgment to resolve manufacturing bottlenecks and streamline personal workflow.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify Lean and 6S opportunities to create a more efficient, safer, and organized shop environment.
- ERP Management: Accurately utilize our management system to track jobs and maintain company standards.
- Precision & Timing: Meet all delivery dates for assigned prototype projects.
- Quality First: Ensure every weld and fabricated part meets customer specifications and safety requirements.
- Safety Leadership: Conduct all shop operations with a "safety-first" mindset.
- Technical Expertise: A minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Welding Mastery: Expert-level TIG welding skills (particularly on thin-gauge materials) with secondary MIG knowledge.
- Design Software: Firm understanding and functional experience using Solid Works
. - Fabrication Kit: Proficient with various shop tools, including hand tools, rolls, and inspection gages.
- Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents and blueprints.
- Soft Skills: A self-starter attitude with excellent communication skills and a genuine belief in continuous improvement.
