The sewing mechanic is responsible for maintaining the optimal functionality and ensuring periodic maintenance of our production machinery, including sewing machines, computerized and automated machines,computerizedandautomatedcuttingequipment,computerizedandautomatedquiltingmachines, and tape edge sewing machines.
- Setupandconfigureeachmachinesothatitisoptimizedformattress manufacturing.
Adjustmachineryasneededtosupportqualityand production.
Order,buildandinstallsewingequipmenttoallowoperatortoperformdaily tasks.
Maintainsparepartsinventoryforallsewing equipment.
Testanddocumentoperationofallsewingequipmentandkeeparepair log.
Leadsafetyfirstcultureandhelpimplementandensuresafetyproceduresareusedthroughoutthe facility.
- Otherdutiesandtasksasneededtosupport production,quality,andsa fety.
Knowledgeofbasicelectricalandmechanical systems
Knowledgeofsurging,straight stitch,multi needle,bar tacking,automatedsewingmachinesand computerized cutting and sewing.
- Subject to an on-call rotation to respond to problems during off shift hours.
- Ability to travel to our Woodstock, CT facility, if necessary
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and bend, stoop and crawl.
High school diploma or equivalent
