Overview
U.S. Public Safety Security Officer – Night Shift (3:00PM–7:00AM) at Harrington Memorial Hospital, part of UMass Memorial Health. Provides security monitoring, incident response, and support to staff and patients, ensuring safety of hospital property.
Schedule and CompensationSchedule: Weekends (Saturday & Sunday) 11:00PM–7:00AM, 8‑hour shift, 3‑night shift, 16 hours per week.
Compensation: $17.36 – $31.26 per hour (final offer may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications).
Cost Center: 25082 – 5170 Public Safety.
Responsibilities- Patrol and monitor buildings and grounds; inspect doors, windows and points of entry.
- Tag and record unlocked or unsecured points of entry.
- Warn violators of rule infractions (e.g., loitering, smoking, carrying forbidden articles).
- Apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts in accordance with applicable laws.
- Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and unsecured doors.
- Observe departing personnel to prevent theft of hospital property.
- Record incidents in writing or electronic media; assist local authorities with investigations.
- Report criminal acts to the Public Safety Supervisor or local authorities.
- Assist hospital staff with protection and safety of patients or other individuals.
- Adhere to all general orders and special orders directed by the Public Safety Supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three years related experience and/or training in military, fire, or police/public safety.
