Requirements:
Must have NYS Certification as a Teaching Assistant
- Level I, Level II or Level III or have NYS certification as a teacher

- Library experience preferred
- A willingness to learn and grow
- Physical stamina to lift and bend
- Knowledge of Dewey Decimal System
- A love of reading and commitment to information literacy
- Exemplifies the WCSD vision, Core Beliefs, and Essential Skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Facility with computers; proficiency with Google Workspace for Education preferred
- A friendly, flexible disposition and desire to create a safe, welcoming environment for all students
- Adherence to the American Library Association ethical standards around intellectual freedom and confidentiality
Responsibilities:
- Check books in and out
- Help students locate library materials
- Maintain accurate attendance records
- Fill and generate interlibrary loan requests
- Collect and report data on resource use
- Generate, deliver, and follow up on overdue notices
- Shelve books using Dewey Decimal classification
- Answer the phone and direct library inquiries
- Process new books and repair damaged books
- Move around the library to actively supervise students
- Check in book and supply orders and assist in generating new orders
- Assist in the design and execution of physical and digital library displays and promotions
- Assist students in navigating the library catalog, databases, Ebook collection, and multimedia collection
Salary:
As per current Educational Support Association Agreement (ESA) as well as education and experience
