Location: West Webster
fairlife, LLC is a Chicago-based nutrition company that creates nutrition-rich dairy products. The company is building a new manufacturing facility in Webster, NY, and will hire 250 employees.
Shift schedule12 Hour Nights: night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Rotating 2-2-3 schedule (two days on, two days off, three days on). Every other weekend.
Shift differential: $2 per hour for night shift.
Job purposeThe Packaging Material Operator is responsible for organizing, storing, and supplying raw materials to filling and packaging equipment via an industrial truck. They provide preforms, caps, chemicals, clean drive paths, and remove waste.
Responsibilities- Follow all safety, working, and GMP rules.
- Report to and follow directions of Production Supervisors.
- Safely operate forklifts for moving material or waste.
- Clean and sort used material orderly.
- Maintain FIFO rotation of raw materials.
- Ensure proper storage and complete paperwork and computer documentation.
- Communicate with supervisor and filler operator about inventory availability or risks.
- Place inventory in designated labeled locations, maintain 18" clearance.
- Keep packaging infeed areas clean, orderly, and debris-free.
- Conduct monthly and yearly housekeeping audits.
- Learn to operate downstream packaging equipment as needed.
- Aid in training new personnel or upskilling team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate packaging material needs effectively.
- Problem‑solving ability and ability to troubleshoot and escalade.
- Adherence to safety procedures.
- Possess or be able to obtain an Industrial Truck Operator License.
- Ability to handle ambiguity in fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in English, comfortable with written/verbal communication.
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, operating industrial truck; lifts up to 60 lbs frequently, 80 lbs occasionally.
- Pushing/pulling bags, using broom/mops, occasional bending, stooping.
- Squatting to pick up product, twisting, turning at waist.
- Climbing stairs, reaching above shoulder level.
- Hands/fingers for operating truck buttons, typing, opening pallets, cleaning waste.
- Notify supervisions of repairs/adjustments affecting product quality or safety.
- Observe color‑coded container policy.
- Meet Company, Customer, Government requirements and standards.
- Initiate action to prevent nonconformities relating to food safety.
- Record problems relating to food safety and quality.
- Control further processing/delivery of nonconforming products.
- Assume duties if absent.
