Packaging Operator; Nights - Rotating Weekends

fairlife’s new manufacturing facility in Webster, NY is under construction and will launch late 2025. We are hiring 250 new employees, including a Packaging Operator for the 12‑hour night shift.

12 Hour Nights: Night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Rotating 2‑2‑3 schedule: two days on, two days off, three days on, followed by two days off, two days on, and three days off. Every other weekend (including Friday, Saturday, Sunday) is worked. Shift differential of $2 per hour for night shift.

The Packaging Operator operates, sets up, changes over, troubleshoots, and cleans sleeving, case packing, or palletizing equipment. The role ensures products meet specifications, adapts equipment, clears jams, and prepares for cleaning. Materials such as sleeves, corrugate, shrink film, glue, pallets, and stretch wrap are continuously fed. The operator adheres to food processing requirements verified by routine quality checks and maintains food‑safe practices throughout operation.

• Follow all safety, working, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) rules.
• Report to and follow the directions of the Production Supervisors.
• Operate moving equipment safely, making appropriate adjustments within process limits to package accurate and defect‑free cases with sleeved bottles.
• Observe machine operations to ensure quality conformity to specifications and standard operating procedures for all packaged products.
• Inspect packaged product throughout the process and adjust the process as needed, escalating issues to a supervisor.
• Supply packaging equipment with materials such as sleeves, corrugate, shrink film, glue, pallets, and stretch wrap.
• Periodically count and record all finished or rejected materials.
• Clean packaging equipment, ancillary tools, conveyors, and surrounding areas. Maintain audit‑ready condition during and after production.
• Proactively monitor the production line and equipment to identify backups, jams, or rejects; resolve stoppages efficiently and record all downtime reasons.
• Stop and address machines when faults occur, clear jams, and report malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor and/or technician.
• Troubleshoot problems, perform minor repairs using the correct tools, and participate in preventive maintenance on the packaging equipment.
• Use visual observation of gauges and auditory cues to ensure equipment functions properly; inform maintenance of suspected issues if corrective action is not possible.
• Aid in training new personnel or upskilling team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• A High School diploma or GED (required).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computational skills including simple math and reasoning.
• Ability to operate equipment effectively after training.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and escalation protocol for complex issues.
• Adherence to safety procedures and efficient work practices.
• Industrial Truck Operator License (required or obtainable).
• Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Proficiency in English with competency in written and verbal communication.

• Sitting/Standing/Walking/Lifting/Carrying: operator stands, walks on uneven concrete or tile, lifts full packaged cases.
• Pushing/Pulling/Bending/Stooping: operator pushes/pulls rolls of labels, stacks boxes, uses brooms, dust mops, and brushes; occasional bending/stooping.
• Squatting/Kneeling/Crawling/Twisting/Turning: occasional squatting, twisting, and turning for cleanup and material loading.
• Climbing/Balancing/Reaching: steps on/off platforms, climbs stairs, reaches below and above shoulder level for equipment access.
• Grasping/Manipulation: frequent hand/finger use for button pressing, equipment door opening, keyboard use, jam clearing, changeovers, and quality checks.
