Press Brake Operator
This role involves setting up and operating manual press brakes to produce high-quality metal components in a clean, organized machine shop. You will work from blueprints and work orders, perform precise setups and adjustments, and ensure each part meets exact specifications through careful inspection and measurement.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate manual press brakes to produce high-quality metal components according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine bend sequences, tooling requirements, and material specifications.
- Select and install appropriate punches and dies based on material type, thickness, and bend requirements.
- Perform manual machine setup, including adjustments to back gauges, stroke depth, and tonnage to achieve accurate bends.
- Adjust machine settings and tooling as needed to correct deviations and improve part quality.
- 4–5 years of press brake setup and operation experience.
- Hands-on experience with manual press brake machines and tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Strong blueprint reading and measuring skills for precise fabrication.
- Experience with press brake setup and operation, preferably with NCA controls.
You will join a clean, well-organized machine shop that offers a supportive, family-oriented atmosphere and a strong sense of autonomy. The schedule includes half-days on Fridays, supporting work-life balance while still providing steady, engaging work in a very active and busy operation.
The schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, providing a structured workweek with an early finish on Fridays.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Webster, NY. The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
