Job Description

Provide initial contact with the public concerning questions, problems, or general information and direct individuals to the proper authority for further handling. Maintain accurate student attendance records and report Average Daily Attendance. Assist Administrators by providing accurate information for students who are assigned to the alternative education program (AEP) for disciplinary reasons. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

Qualifications

Education/Certification/Licensure

High school diploma or GED

Experience

Clerical experience, preferably in a public education environment

Major Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide initial personal contact with visitors entering the school office and issue visitor passes as appropriate.
  • Exercise good telephone etiquette, take reliable messages, and route calls to appropriate staff.
  • Check students in and out during the school day.
  • Keep accurate attendance records, including entering data from attendance forms for each class period, maintain daily attendance reports used for ADA, and maintain accurate excuse notes in all student folders.
  • Coordinate and interact with district truancy/attendance officers to improve student attendance.
  • Assist with maintaining record of enrollments and withdrawals and an accurate record of the reason.
  • Assist in scheduling parents and students for new student orientation and preparing for new student orientation meetings.
  • Perform office routines and practices associated with a productive office (e.g., correspondence, answering telephone, scheduling, mail distribution, etc.).
  • Be responsible for PEIMS data accuracy and verifying attendance reports every six weeks.
  • Assist principal, students, teachers, and parents as needed.
  • Assist Administrators by providing updated database information daily.
  • Implement individualized provisions of positive and supportive student behavior reinforcement.
  • Deal professionally with highly confidential student and staff information.

  • Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

  • Participate fully in drills and safety exercises to provide for the safety and overall emotional wellbeing of students.
  • Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
  • Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
  • Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
  • Maintain positive and friendly customer‑service‑driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co‑workers.
  • Work cooperatively with co‑workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  • Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  • Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
