Clear View High School Alpha and Support Counselor (Part Time) 2026-27 Job Description Primary Purpose
Clear Creek ISD counselors design and deliver school counseling programs that improve student outcomes. They lead, advocate, and collaborate to promote success for all stakeholders while following the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs and contributing to Clear Creek ISD’s mission and strategic plan. This is accomplished through a variety of approaches including guidance curriculum, individual planning, responsive services, and system support.
QualificationsEducation/Certification / Licensure
- Master’s degree in counseling from an accredited college or university, preference, or Master’s degree with an approved certification from an EPP
- Valid Texas counseling certificate
- Knowledge of the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Program
- Effective communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate guidance curriculum
- Demonstration of counseling and guidance leadership skills
- Computer skills consistent with district expectations
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience
- Implement classroom guidance lessons by teaching the Texas Comprehensive School Counseling Program guidance curriculum components including Intrapersonal Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Personal Health and Safety, and Post-Secondary Education and Career Readiness.
- Follow district processes and procedures for guidance curriculum implementation as established by the Counseling and Student Services department.
- Attend district guidance curriculum updates provided by the Counseling and Student Services Department to effectively facilitate district‑required guidance lessons, as determined by the campus.
- Consider development, interest, academic performance, graduation requirements, and assessment outcomes in goal setting with students during one‑on‑one academic conferences and throughout the year.
- Implement the individual student planning component by guiding individuals and groups of students, and parents or guardians, through the development of educational, career, personal, or social plans.
- Maintain student documentation and follow procedures in accordance with the CCISD Credit Verification Process to ensure all graduation requirements are met.
- Participate and evaluate information from the annual Senior Audit.
- Support students and parents/guardians with the college application process as needed. This may include writing letters of recommendation, completing school reports, and mid‑year reports in a timely manner.
- Support and communicate with students and parents regarding secondary courses, programs, and opportunities during the annual CCISD course selection process.
- Collaborate with intermediate campuses to ensure a successful transition which may include course selection presentations, course selection materials, program application processes, and Kid Talk.
- Attend the annual course selection update provided by the Counseling and Student Services Department to effectively support the district course selection process.
- Create and ensure all students have an up‑to‑date academic schedule that aligns with needed graduation requirements utilizing the current Student Management System.
- Ensure all students and parents/guardians are aware of the CCISD promotion standards and notify students and parents/guardians of opportunities for success in summer school.
- Work with students and parents/guardians who are new to CCISD to ensure school records are evaluated in order to determine appropriate course placement and to create a credit evaluation for CCISD transcript creation.
- Collaborate with teachers, students, and parents/guardians during the four‑year planning process.
- Follow district processes and procedures established by the Assessment and Evaluation Department for the administration of district Credit by Examinations (CBE).
- Serve as a member of the campus multi‑tiered system of support (MTSS) in order to advocate for the needs of students.
