Overview
Aegis Aerospace (Houston, TX) seeks a Senior Capture Manager to lead capture efforts and secure new business wins across Space & Defense Services, Commercial Space Services, and Space Hardware/Systems Development for NASA, DoD and Intelligence Space communities.
ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate all phases of the company’s gated capture processes in response to U.S. DoD (primarily USAF and USSF)/Intelligence Communities, NASA and other Space/Defense market RFPs.
Collaborate with the Proposal Manager to produce business development artifacts and products including White Papers, Technical Solutions, RFIs, Sources Sought, and federal/commercial proposal responses.
Build and maintain a pipeline of potential new business opportunities necessary to achieve the company’s growth objectives outlined in the 5‑Year Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan.
Develop capture strategy, including business and technical solutions, competitive assessments, teaming agreements (Primes & Subs), and price‑to‑win analyses; lead bid and proposal activities and maintain ongoing interaction with leadership, capture managers, proposal management, and product & services teams.
Ensure capture managers and proposal team members adhere to sound capture management and business development processes in accordance with company procedures and quality practices.
Present a 90‑Day Plan for success within the first 30 days of work, outlining strategies for follow‑on contracts and new business pursuits.
90‑Day PlanDevelop/deploy capture plans for NASA/DoD/Intelligence Space pursuits, including key segments such as NSTTC, MIOES, and other Space/Defense market opportunities.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business or technical (engineering/science) field with a minimum of 15 years of experience in business development activities.
- Experience with and established relationships in NASA and DoD (primarily USAF AFRL and USSF) and Intelligence Communities.
- Experience managing and leading winning capture efforts for U.S. Government contracts valued over $50M.
- Strong leadership, organizational, reading, comprehension, and writing skills.
- Trained and competent in capture management (Shipley method preferred).
- Experience with collaboration and customer relationship software such as SharePoint, Deltek’s Gov Win, and Salesforce CRM or similar.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Current Secret or Top‑Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
- Personable – able to convince future customers why they want to work with Aegis Aerospace.
- Excellent organizer, planner, and executor – able to manage large, diverse teams such that the resulting products are on‑time and of the highest quality.
- Excellent storyteller – able to convey complex ideas in clear and simple prose.
- Creative – able to create new ideas from known facts.
- Accountable – keeps commitments effectively.
- Technical background preferred but not required.
- Commercial Space background preferred but not required.
