Responsibilities

  • New Construction Oversight:
    Monitor and inspect shipbuilding processes, review and approve construction procedures and specifications for compliance, conduct progressive inspections during construction phases, and attend sea trials.
  • Existing Vessel Surveys:
    Perform condition assessments, damage surveys, and compliance inspections on in-service vessels; evaluate structural integrity, machinery performance, and safety systems; prepare detailed technical reports and recommend corrective actions or repairs.
  • Regulatory & Compliance:
    Ensure adherence to IMO conventions, flag‑state regulations, and classification society standards; liaise with shipowners, operators, and regulatory authorities to resolve compliance issues.
  • Technical Support & Advisory:
    Provide expert guidance on marine engineering, hull structures, and safety systems; support risk assessments and incident investigations.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong professional experience in marine surveying, including new construction and operational vessels.
  • Customer‑experience focused mindset.
  • In‑depth knowledge of international maritime regulations and classification society rules.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Accountability and ownership for delivering customer needs.
  • Self‑management and prioritisation of tasks towards achieving goals.
  • Effective problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and timely decision‑making.
  • Flexibility and eagerness to take initiatives.
  • Structured communication and ability to present technical ideas in user‑friendly language.
  • Team spirit, especially in a multicultural environment.
