Position: Senior Financial Analyst Full Time

Position Overview

Houston Physicians Hospital is hiring a Full Time Senior Financial Analyst to provide advanced financial analysis and insights across the hospital. The analyst leads service line meetings, prepares profitability reports, and supports strategic decision‑making.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the Controller during month‑end reporting to generate accurate financial statements.
  • Assist in preparing financial slides for monthly Board meetings by analyzing and summarizing key financial drivers.
  • Generate revenue data necessary for journal entries during the month‑end close process.
  • Lead service line meetings with the revenue cycle and supply chain teams, creating detailed financial slides and providing insight to support strategy and surgical service improvements.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly and weekly volume reports, offering high‑level insights on key drivers and trends.
  • Analyze hospital surgery data—including profit & loss, case types, revenue trends, and supply cost trends—to provide actionable recommendations to the CFO and leadership team.
  • Collect financial data manually and through automated systems.
  • Promote professional growth by meeting mandatory education requirements and serving as mentor to less experienced staff.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial analysis, decision support, and productivity reporting within a healthcare environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts, data visualization, macros).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and recommend actions.
  • Proactive, independent work style with initiative and curiosity.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with the CFO team, department managers, and senior leaders.
  • Proven ability to lead meetings, present financial data, and influence decision‑making.
  • Preferred experience with hospital surgery data analysis and revenue/supply cost trend identification.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and strong time‑management skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
