Imaging Technologist I, Multi‑Modal (CT & X‑Ray) – Weekend Midshift (up to 19 hrs/week)
Position at The University of Texas Medical Branch.
Job DescriptionThe Multi‑modality Technologist I is responsible for providing quality imaging and patient care in two medical imaging modalities, with a primary focus on MRI, CT, mammography, or X‑ray. Duties include performing imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients, communicating procedure details to patients, and, under general supervision of a Radiologist, obtaining diagnostic‑quality images. The role requires at least 40 % time in the second modality and may involve flex shifts and support at different UTMB campuses.
Education& Experience
- Associate of Applied Science OR Graduate of an accredited Radiology program
- Enrolled in or have completed a second Imaging Modality program
- Associate of Applied Science OR Graduate of an accredited Radiology program
- Enrolled in or have completed a second Imaging Modality program
- Six months of experience in the primary imaging modality
- Three or more months of experience in the secondary imaging modality
- Certification from one of the following credentialing organizations:
American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT);
American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (ARDMS);
American Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT‑VT);
Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB);
American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) - Registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT‑GC) through the Texas Medical Board, if applicable.
- Registry in a second modality must be completed within 6 months of hire or transfer date.
- American Heart Association BLS
Up to 19.99 hours per week with no benefits. Hours are on weekends, midshift (11 am to 11 pm).
