Certified IV Admixture Technician - Webster, Tx

Certified IV Admixture Technician – Texas Oncology is looking for a full‑time, Monday–Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. position to support the Webster, Texas location. This role will be assigned as Level I, II, or Senior based on candidate experience.

• Prepare medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Check all orders for completeness of information.
• Verify patient information and proper physician authorization.
• Check all orders for insurance approval before admixing.
• Under professional supervision, admix drugs as ordered by physicians accurately and timely, following departmental, OSHA, and interoffice guidelines.
• Calculate correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents; maintain indigent patient drug program as needed.
• Count controlled drugs weekly and maintain records; manage current drug information and MSDS sheets; dispose all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs.
• Clean hood daily as per policy and procedures; log and date all drugs in use.
• Check drugs monthly for outdates; keep accurate temperature logs; maintain logs for all protocol and patient assistance drugs.
• Maintain proper control documentation of medications, including lot numbers and all quality assurance activities.
• Complete inventory control of medications; order supplies and medications; receive and shelve medications; ensure standard drug supplies are adequately stocked.
• Prepare labels; file and prepare billing.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Entry‑level to three (3) years experience in a pharmacy.
• IV certification strongly preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or state pharmacy board requirement recommended.

• Minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience in a pharmacy with IV skills (Level II).

• Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in a pharmacy with IV skills (Level Senior).
• Oncology background preferred or extensive IV preparation experience.
• Completion of an ASCP accredited program or community college‑based program recommended.

Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, and ability to read and note measurements; sit/stand for extended periods; occasionally lift items up to 40 lbs; corrected vision and hearing to normal range required.

Office environment with regular exposure to direct contact with patients, potential exposure to toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and chemotherapeutic agents.
