Position: MRI/CT Technologist Full Time

Houston Physicians Hospital is hiring a Full Time MRI/CT Technologist.

Welcome to Houston Physicians Hospital! Are you a skilled and compassionate MRI/CT Technologist seeking an extraordinary career opportunity at a state-of-the-art healthcare facility? This multimodality position is accountable for performing quality MRI and CT imaging with advanced technical knowledge while maintaining patient care for all ages from neonatal to adults. Patient acuity ranges from stable outpatients to critically ill patients on full life support.

Responsibilities
  • General Clinical Practice:
    Know and demonstrate proficiency of all MRI and CT examinations.
  • Maintain safety of the MRI and CT suite in conjunction with patients and multidisciplinary staff.
  • Evaluate examination orders for pertinent clinical information and assess patient needs in conjunction with radiologists.
  • Recognize emerging patient conditions and coordinate critical patient transport with nursing personnel as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Patient Services and anesthesia as needed.
  • Work independently.
  • Teach and provide personal knowledge and positive environment for employees.
  • Provide appropriate information and instruction to patients and families.
  • Demonstrate competency and proficiency in performing all MRI and CT procedures as identified in the MRI/CT Tech competency.
  • Identify anatomical orientation, sequence images, and verify accurate patient identification for accurate record retention and archiving.
  • Accurately assess, select, prepare and administer contrast materials in accordance with best clinical practices.
  • Demonstrate competency and efficiency in safety in the MRI and CT suite, assessing patient condition and preserving patient safety through proper use of immobilization devices.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient and facility-related information.
  • Store supplies and equipment necessary for patient care in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Use correct and safe techniques in the use of equipment and maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff according to facility policies.
  • Use computer system to document and accurately record patient information, be proficient in computer terminology and applications, perform all necessary computer operations including PACS, verify accurate charge capture for procedures performed.
  • Accurately transcribe physician orders and facilitate correcting mistakes or unclear orders with appropriate people.
  • Report all safety hazards that could harm patients, visitors, or other facility employees.
  • Assist in identifying appropriate indicators for the department’s Quality Improvement programs.
  • Discuss difficult cases with radiologists to reduce patient call-backs.
  • Initiate occurrence reports when problems are identified.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • ARRT required.
  • MRI and/or CT certification preferred.
  • State registration if required by respective state.
  • BLS certified.
  • 2‑3 years MRI experience.
  • Possess level of clinical expertise and competency in cross‑sectional anatomy.
  • Venipuncture skills required.
  • Ability to handle critical‑care situations that can create high level of stress.
  • Must be willing to cross‑train into X‑ray.
