We provide comprehensive medical and surgical care including laser cataract surgery, LASIK, vision correction, glaucoma, retina and vitreous disease treatments and more.
We are hiring for an Ophthalmic Technician/Scribe who will support a high‑volume ophthalmic practice focused on quality and compassionate eye‑care services.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and document patient history.
- Determine visual acuity.
- Perform automated and manual refraction for diagnostic purposes.
- Retinoscopy and refinement for prescribing purposes.
- Advanced lensometry.
- Logarithmic pupillary assessment.
- Static & kinetic visual field testing.
- PAM, BAT, and advanced ocular motility assessment.
- Manual keratometry.
- Osmolarity testing.
- Administer eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions as ordered by physician.
- Enter data into EMR and provide patient services.
- Measure intra‑ocular pressure (tonometry).
- Prepare patients pre‑operatively.
- Maintain and repair equipment and instruments.
- Perform ocular imaging including OCT, Topography, fundus photography.
- Prepare surgical instruments and equipment.
- Use aseptic technique.
- Assist in operating room for minor and refractive surgeries.
- Prepare and label microscope slides and culture media as ordered by physician.
- Provide amblyopia treatment including patching, drops, and prism.
- Compute intra‑ocular lens power calculations.
- Deliver post‑operative education.
- Escalate and triage urgent patient needs/care.
- Educate patients using advanced refracting skills, over‑refraction of contact lenses, contact lens fit/adjustment, advanced slit lamp technique.
- Perform A‑scan diagnostic measurements.
- Perform biometry measurements.
- Provide ophthalmic scribe and tech experience.
- Ensure dependable transportation for inter‑office travel.
- Maintain flexibility to travel to various locations.
- Pay attention to detail and maintain confidentiality.
- Seek instruction when needed.
- Recognize inconsistencies.
Graduation from an accredited high school. Ophthalmic scribe and tech experience required.
