Primary Responsibilities
Upon the order of a qualified physician, the Radiology Technologist will utilize equipment which produces ionizing radiation to obtain radiographs for diagnostic purposes according to the KSC Radiology Department’s policies, procedures, and protocols.
Equipment includes fluoroscopic and/or digital radiographic and/or routine radiographic rooms used in combination with CR technology for image acquisition. Imaging services vary by location, so the technologist may rotate through the ambulatory surgery center to provide radiographic support via a C‑arm or portable unit. Fluoroscopic exams may be required depending on assigned site.
The technologist will use the Radiology Information System (RIS) for clerical processes and the Patient Archiving System (PACS) for image acquisition and storage.
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an AMA‑approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Graduate Technologist designation as defined by the Texas Medical Board.
- Employee must attain an ARRT(R) and MRT‑General Certificate Status within one year of eligibility or ARRT (R).
- MRT‑General Certificate.
- Eligible for ARRT (R) registry.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- Proficiency using a computer keyboard and understanding of digital image acquisition.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Associate in Applied Science—Radiology Technology.
- One or more years of clinical Radiology Technologist experience.
- Experience with PACS and RIS.
- Bi‑lingual or multi‑lingual proficiency.
The hourly pay for this role ranges from $24.00 to $43.00 per hour based on full‑time employment. Salary is based on local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, and other factors.
