We are seeking a Manager of Cyber Security at Starlab, responsible for protecting our information systems and ensuring compliance with federal security requirements.
Base pay range: $130,000 – $150,000 per year.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement enterprise information security architectures and solutions.
- Serve as a security expert in application development, database design, network, and platform efforts, helping project teams comply with enterprise and IT security policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
- Research, design, and advocate new technologies and security products that support security requirements for the enterprise, its customers, partners, and vendors.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of information security strategy and architecture.
- Analyze business impact and exposure based on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks.
- Develop and execute security controls, defenses, and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks on company email, data, e-commerce, and web‑based systems.
- Research attempted or successful efforts to compromise system security and design countermeasures.
- Maintain hardware, software, and network firewalls and encryption protocols.
- Administer security policies to control physical and virtual access to systems.
- Provide information to management regarding the impact of theft, destruction, alteration, or denial of access to information and systems.
- Manage and partner with third‑party information security vendors.
- Partner with government agencies, including NASA and the Department of Defense, on information security matters.
- Communicate security risks and solutions to business partners and IT staff as needed.
- Participate in annual information security training and fairs.
- Attend cybersecurity events and participate in other external cybersecurity activities to maintain current expertise.
- Respond to emergencies and remediate information security incidents.
- Maintain knowledge of government data protection requirements such as NIST 800‑53 (moderate & high), NIST 800‑171, CUI, and export‑controlled/ITAR regulations, and implement data protection strategies.
- Develop a cybersecurity protection roadmap and execution plan.
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Certifications & Licenses- Certifications preferred but not required include CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
- Active DoD security clearance preferred.
- 5–7 years of directly related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in aerospace strongly preferred.
- Experience and competency in cloud security posture management (CSPM); identity & access management (IAM); data loss & CUI prevention; SIEM & threat monitoring; endpoint detection and response (EDR).
- Support ticketing systems and change control methodologies aligned with ITIL best practices.
- Understanding of IT security concepts applied to ERP, business systems, and applications.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25 %.
U.S. citizenship is required, and the candidate must be eligible to obtain the necessary authorizations from NASA. The position does not sponsor visas.
