Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent and four (4) years’ experience in healthcare supply chain operations, healthcare purchasing, or other closely related field; including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position.
- Clinical operations experience, specifically in dealing with clinical care providers.
- Certification with AHRMM, ISM, APICS, Healthcare Resource Management, CMRP, CPM, or CPIM.
The Manager of Supply Chain Operations directs and implements all supply management activities for the assigned areas, ensuring consistent and adequate supply availability and high levels of customer satisfaction. The role assures that the Hospital is provided with consistent, high-quality, and cost-effective supply management operations across all assigned duties, including inventory management, PAR location management, warehouse management, and central receiving and shipping functions.
The Manager assists in the development, implementation, and continuous monitoring of goals, key performance indicators, customer satisfaction surveys, service level agreements, and policies and procedures for assigned locations and staff, and serves as the in‑house consultant for all supply management functions.
- Operational Functions
- Manage compliance with operational processes and initiatives.
- Monitor and report monthly on operational progress using best‑practice metrics.
- Maintain minimal inventory levels while ensuring maximum scope of product category inclusion, dual focus on clinical and procedural supply management activities.
- Handle all materials handling processes for assigned location, ensuring agreed‑upon levels of supply inventories and quality of products.
- Manage operational performance and adhere to established budget guidelines.
- Direct staff and oversee their professional growth and development.
- Finance & Human Resources Stewardship
- Act as a supporting resource to finance for all supply, service, and capital expense‑related needs.
- Measure and report departmental operational metrics and participate in benchmarking.
- Assist in budget preparation for supply chain cost centers.
- Justify budget variances as necessary.
- Monitor and adjust supply costs, staff mix, and productivity to optimize resource utilization.
- Quality Service Support
- Provide training materials and written policies to new staff.
- Staff departments with qualified associates and appropriate skill mix.
- Delegate tasks to achieve goals while maintaining service quality.
- Establish procedures to monitor processes, tasks, or job activities of subordinates.
- Collaborate with the Director of Supply Chain Operations to develop performance improvement activities.
- Professional Development & Leadership
- Ensure core competency in the primary area directed is current.
- Practice accepted management principles with respect and fairness.
- Maintain current knowledge of management techniques and healthcare applications.
- Complete educational and training programs and maintain active professional association memberships.
- Lead operations staff, fostering teamwork, creativity, and continuous process improvement.
- Performance Management
- Develop performance plans, job specifications, and essential functions.
- Communicate performance standards and expectations.
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
- Maintain documentation of performance.
- Offer progressive counseling as required.

- Strong analytical ability in Excel, enterprise software systems, and business intelligence tools.
- Knowledge of procedural and non‑procedural healthcare supply chain operations.
- Familiarity with The Joint Commission, OSHA, and Department of Health guidelines and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with allied health professionals and vendors.
- Understanding of materials receiving, delivery, and inventory process principles, concepts, techniques, and methodologies.
