Job SummaryWe are seeking a motivated and compassionate Neurology Nurse Practitioner to join our team. This role is ideal for new graduates who have a strong interest in neurology and are looking to build a career in a supportive, collaborative clinical environment. Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the NP will assist in evaluating, diagnosing, and managing neurological conditions among residents and staff.
Responsibilities include ambulatory care, minor procedures, patient education, care coordination, and collaboration with referring physicians and healthcare professionals. Training and mentorship will be provided to support professional growth.
- Conduct initial assessments for new residents, focusing on neurological health and orientation to available services.
- Provide care in the ambulatory clinic setting for patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions (e.g., migraines, seizures, Parkinson’s disease, neuropathy), and perform follow-up visits as required.
- Write prescriptions, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and perform minor office procedures within scope of practice and under supervision when needed.
- Refer patients to neurologists or other specialists as necessary and coordinate continuity of care.
- Conduct physical exams, including neurological assessments and screenings for cognitive impairment.
- Support wellness and education efforts for patients and caregivers, including facilitating group discussions on topics like managing chronic neurological disease, stroke prevention, and coping strategies.
- Perform staff health assessments, including pre-employment physicals and post-injury evaluations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and compile reports on clinic utilization and patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with nurses, social workers, therapists, and physicians to assess resident needs and develop care plans.
- Attend interdisciplinary care meetings and serve on relevant clinical committees.
- May occasionally travel to affiliated clinics for coverage or training purposes.
