Job Summary:
The CVOR Registered Nurse will provide specialized perioperative care for cardiovascular surgery patients in a dedicated, fast-paced unit. The role involves supporting open-heart and vascular procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Administer preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care for cardiac and vascular surgery patients.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to prepare patients and facilitate complex procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, and ECMO.
- Monitor patient vitals, manage equipment, and respond promptly to urgent situations within the CVOR.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient status, and treatment responses in Meditech EMR.
- Adhere to unit policies, safety standards, and dress code requirements, including scrub attire.
- Participate in on-call rotations, providing support during weekends and off-hours as scheduled.
- Valid RN license with demonstrated experience in cardiovascular or operating room settings.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent CVOR or perioperative nursing experience.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with excellent teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular procedures such as CABG, carotid endarterectomy, and angiography.
