CVOR Registered Nurse – Houston, TX

Schedule: Days | No Weekends
Shift Options: 10-Hour Shifts (4 Days/Week) or 12-Hour Shifts (3 Days/Week)
On-Call Requirement: 1 Weekend Per Month + 3–4 Weekdays Monthly
Compensation: $38.03–$57.05/hour (based on experience)
On-Call Pay: $5.00/hour
Sign-On Bonus: Available on a case-by-case basis
Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis
Join a nationally recognized cardiovascular surgical program as a CVOR Registered Nurse supporting complex cardiac and vascular procedures in a high‑acuity surgical environment. This opportunity offers the chance to work alongside an experienced cardiovascular team performing open‑heart and hybrid vascular procedures while utilizing advanced surgical technology and evidence‑based perioperative practices.

Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care for cardiovascular and vascular surgical patients throughout the perioperative process.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure adherence to infection prevention standards.
- Prepare patients and operating rooms for cardiovascular surgical procedures.
- Conduct preoperative patient assessments and verify procedural readiness.
- Participate in surgical time‑outs and patient safety initiatives.
- Assist surgeons and perioperative team members during cardiac and vascular procedures.
- Monitor patient status and advocate for patient safety throughout the surgical experience.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for perioperative staff.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and departmental performance goals.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Active Texas RN License or Multi‑State Compact RN License
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
- Minimum 1 year of CVOR nursing experience in an acute care setting
- Experience in cardiovascular surgery, operating room nursing, surgical services, or cardiac procedures
- Experienced Operating Room RN with 3+ years of acute care OR experience
- Willingness to complete cardiovascular operating room cross‑training
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- CNOR Certification
- Advanced cardiovascular surgical experience
- Hybrid vascular OR experience
- Dedicated cardiovascular surgical program
- Three specialized surgical suites:
- Two Cardiovascular Operating Rooms
- One Hybrid Vascular Operating Room
- Performs more than 400 open‑heart procedures annually
- Average of 2–4 cardiac surgeries daily
