Overview
Texas Oncology is seeking a PRN Float Oncology Clinic and Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Webster Market. The position is Monday‑Friday, does not involve weekends, holidays, or on‑call duties. The RN will float from the home site as needed to cover the Webster, Houston Southeast, and Pearland sites. The role may be classified as Level I, Level II, or Senior based on relevant experience.

- Oncology Clinic RN
- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards.
- Assess health status by interviewing patients and reviewing medical history.
- Assess patient and family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Manage medication refill requests via pharmacy telephone line and record in chart.
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests, referrals, and future appointments.
- Triage patient phone calls and document relevant information in the chart.
- Facilitate communication between patients, families, and interdisciplinary team; coordinate related services.
- Assist patients in locating community resources.
- Infusion Clinic RN
- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards.
- Assess patient and family needs; provide teaching and instructional material.
- Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction and supervision.
- Administer all medications and blood products using correct dosage, route, timing, and technique.
- Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained before therapy administration.
- Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocols or treatment plans, calculating dose, and consulting physician for dosage adjustments, problem resolution, and symptom management.
- Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments (including charge capture procedures).
- Education & Training
- Level I
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Maintain continuing education requirements.
- 0–3 years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Level II
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Level Senior
- Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred.
- Oncology certification preferred.
- Level I

Work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations. Reasonable accommodations can be made.
- Physical Requirements
Requires full range of motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods; occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within normal range required.
