Job Summary

Operating Room Nurse PRN at Bay Area Surgicare Center, an ambulatory surgical center under HCA Healthcare. The role involves providing nursing care during surgical procedures in a family‑care environment, including circulating or scrub responsibilities until the patient is transferred to recovery.

• Oversee instrument and equipment set‑up for the OR, including utilization of preference cards and anticipation of surgeon needs.
• Coordinate and oversee the room during a case as the circulator.
• Facilitate effective and efficient transition between surgical procedures.
• Use appropriate body mechanics to move patients to stretchers and OR tables, preventing injury.
• Manage patient care and medication, including assistance with anesthesia.
• Consistently review charts for completeness, following documentation protocols before and after procedures.

• Graduate from an accredited professional nursing school.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably an ambulatory surgery center.
• Active RN license required by state or appropriate compact licensure.
• Valid BCLS certification upon employment; online certification not acceptable.
• ACLS certification required by facility.
• PALS preferred, may be required at some facilities.
• CNOR certification preferred.
