Overview
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supporting plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing lab results, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results.
- Notify donors of unsuitable test results and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance.
- Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing the Center Physician's standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and evaluate need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or completion of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

CompensationU.S. hourly wage range: $33.44 – $45.98. The actual wage may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location. Position is full‑time (regular).
