Rothe is seeking a Metrology Technician III to support our Calibration and Metrology operations at our Webster, Texas headquarters. Founded in 1967, Rothe is a mission-critical infrastructure and engineering company supporting federal agencies, commercial space, energy, and healthcare markets. Our ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI Z540 accredited calibration laboratory serves NASA, commercial space, defense, energy, and healthcare customers.
Rothe is hiring metrology technicians right now. Our Houston area calibration laboratory is expanding across every technician level, we review applications daily, we interview on a rolling basis, and we are ready to move quickly for qualified candidates. Every technician position in the lab is eligible for a sign-on bonus and for relocation assistance.
Job Description:The Metrology Technician III performs repairs and calibrations on customer and laboratory equipment in Rothe's ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI Z540 accredited Metrology Calibration Laboratory. This position is proficient in Physical Dimensional, DC & Low, RF, Force, and Temperature calibrations and requires minimal supervision to perform calibrations in these areas in the lab or at customer sites. The Metrology Technician III reports to the Lab Manager and may be assigned the position of Onsite Lead as required.
Functional Responsibilities:- Performs repairs, calibrations, and general housekeeping
- Understands the objective of calibration and how to assess results
- Proficient in Physical Dimensional, DC & Low, RF, Force, and Temperature calibrations; requires minimal supervision to perform calibrations in these areas in the lab or at customer sites
- May be assigned the position of Onsite Lead as required
- Keeps the Lab Manager informed of any equipment status changes that would affect its delivery
- Reports any problems or needed improvements to the Lab Manager
- Must be aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the management system

Education and Experience:Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience: Minimum 7 years' experience in calibration or a related field. Reports to the Lab Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:- Minimum 7 years' experience in calibration or a related field
- On the job training; proficient in Physical Dimensional, DC & Low, RF, Force, and Temperature calibrations
- Proficiency in all areas of calibration performed in the lab
- Experience generating measurement uncertainty budgets
- Experience creating or revising calibration procedures for new equipment
