Full-Time Associate Attorney in Estate Planning, Probate, & Elder Law
Job Brief:
We are a growing, family-oriented estate planning law firm seeking a friendly, motivated, and well-rounded attorney to join our team. The position is primarily based in Monroe, NC, with potential split time between this office and our main Weddington location. The role may relocate to our planned Charlotte office within the next year (negotiable).
This role involves significant client contact, including running meetings, designing personalized estate plans, drafting documents, and advising on Medicaid, asset protection, business formations, and estate administration. Experience in civil litigation, especially fiduciary litigation, is a plus.
The candidate should develop a network of related professionals, seek public speaking opportunities, engage in community outreach, and contribute to our blog. Candidates with a portable book of business and experience in public seminars will have an advantage. Newly licensed or entry-level attorneys with relevant additional education or certifications (e.g., LLM, CPA, CFP) will also be considered.
The position offers a base salary plus monthly bonuses based on billings exceeding minimum expectations, with a 401k plan offering up to 4% employer match.

Experience: Prior estate planning, probate, or elder law experience is preferred but not mandatory if the candidate is willing to learn. Additional training in tax or adjacent fields is a plus. Certification in Estate Planning or Elder Law is advantageous. Candidates without specific experience must commit to self-study to attain requisite knowledge within three months.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic Excel; willingness to learn client management software
- Willingness to learn existing operations quickly
- Notary Public (background check required)
- Strong command of English, drafting, proofreading, and public speaking skills
